What buyers will look at

An indicative estimate from the figures you entered, using simple multiples of recurring revenue. It isn't a formal valuation, an offer to buy, or financial advice. Actual offers depend on acquirer appetite, income quality, client profile, compliance history and due diligence, and may be higher or lower.

Thank you, we have your figures.

We'll call you within one working day to check a few details before approaching any acquirers.

Nothing that identifies your firm is shared with a buyer until you've agreed to it.

    Why panel quotes

    One buyer sets one price

Most owners who sell talk to a single acquirer and negotiate from that buyer's opening offer.

We ask several acquirers to quote on the same information at the same time. When buyers know they're competing, the multiple tends to move.

Multiples reflect indicative quotes we have gathered previously and are not a guarantee of future offers. The example is illustrative.

    What sets your value

Seven things every buyer asks about

These are the figures acquirers look at first. They're also the questions in our calculator.

FactorWhy it matters to a buyer
Recurring revenueMultiples are almost always applied to ongoing adviser charges, not initial or one-off fees.
FUM / AUASets the scale of the business and shows the average fee yield.
Average household sizeLarger relationships are more profitable to service and tend to command higher multiples.
Client concentrationIf a handful of clients make up a large share of revenue, losing one or two is a real risk, and buyers price that in.
Client ageAn older book means more decumulation and mortality risk, so assets may shrink sooner.
NetworkFor appointed representative firms, the network agreement shapes the deal: notice periods, exit terms and any rights over the client bank.
DB transfer historyEven a small amount can change the deal, often from a share sale to an asset purchase with liability exclusions.

    How it works

From a first figure to competing quotes

    1. Indicative valuation

Use the calculator above for a starting range based on your own figures.

    2. A call with us

We check your numbers, answer questions and explain what buyers will want to see.

    3. Quotes from the panel

We present your firm anonymously to several acquirers and collect their quotes side by side.

    4. Your decision

If you proceed, the sale is agreed directly with the buyer you choose, with your own legal and professional advisers.

    Questions

    Before you start

Anything else, call us on 07523 961024.

Is the figure from the calculator an offer?

No. It's an indicative range using multiples of your gross recurring revenue. Firm offers come from acquirers after they've reviewed your business and completed due diligence.

Why would a panel pay a higher multiple?

Because several buyers are pricing your firm at once rather than one buyer negotiating alone. Indicative quotes we've gathered have usually been in the 4x to 5x range, compared with around 3x commonly offered by single buyers. Every firm is different, and past quotes don't guarantee future offers.

    Do you handle the sale?

We collect and compare quotes and help you prepare the information buyers ask for in due diligence. The sale itself is agreed directly between you and the acquirer you choose, with your own legal and professional advisers.

Will my clients or staff find out?

No. Your firm is presented to acquirers anonymously, and we only share identifying details with a buyer once you've agreed.

    What does it cost?

Nothing. Our fee is paid by the acquirer, not by you, and it is never deducted from the price you're offered. The valuation and quotes are free and carry no obligation to sell.
